A late registration window for remaining space in District 103 Summer School programs is now open until Thursday, May 10th at Noon. During this time, parents/guardians may sign up students for limited space remaining in the Summer School classes at Daniel Wright Junior High School by visiting www.district103.k12.il.us/ss.htm.

Life Threatening Allergies & New Food Guidelines

Online Registration Now Open for Students Returning to D103 in 2012/2013
Registration for students returning to District 103 schools for the 2012-2013 school year will again be completed online via Skyward Family Access. The online registration window opens on May 1st, and we request student registration be completed by June 1st. Instructions for online registration and a copy of the parent notification letter are posted on the virtual backpack at http://www.district103.k12.il.us/vbackpack/D103OnlineRegInstr043012.pdf. If you have questions, please contact your child’s school office or the district’s registrar, Jane Lincoln, at (847) 295-4030.

Daniel Wright presents Aladdin Jr. on April 19th & April 20th
Parents and community members are invited to experience this stage adaptation of the 1992 hit film, as it is brought to life under the direction of Nancy Alban and Ioana Ligdas. Performances for parents and community members are at 7:00 p.m. on April 19th (White Cast) and April 20th (Green Cast). Skyward Student Access
Parents/Guardians of 6th, 7th, and 8th graders should have received login information for students to view their own grade book through Skyward. Please note, these student login/password combinations are separate from the parent login/password combinations. (Parents' login/password combinations for Family Access/Skyward have not changed unless specifically requested by parent users.) This access supports 6th, 7th and 8th graders in taking an active role in their education. If you have any questions about Family Access/Skyward, please call us at (847) 295-1560, and we will be happy to assist you.
Early Dismissals for Professional Staff Development
During 2011/2012
School District 103 will observe several Early Dismissal Days for Professional Staff Development: Our next date is: May 30th. Students will be released per the following schedule on these days: Daniel Wright Junior High School at 10:50 a.m.; Half Day and Laura B. Sprague Schools at 12:05 p.m.; no Early Childhood classes. Congratulations, Science Olympiad State Champions!
The Daniel Wright Science Olympiad team keeps the State Championship title after finishing in first place from a field of 45 middle school teams at the State Tournament on April 14th. Our team won medals in 23 of 27 events earned a bid to the National Tournament in Orlando in May. |
Congratulations, Science Bowl - 1st in Car Design!
Congratulations to Andrew and Will on taking first place in the Argonne Regional Science Bowl car design competition on April 14th. A lithium-polymer battery, motor, and connector wires were used to design and build a working electric-powered car. Our teams also placed 9th and 14th in speed from a field of 35 cars. Later this month, the five students who won the academic competition in February will represent the Argonne Region at the National Science Bowl in Washington, D.C. in late April. |

Congratulations to our 8th grade Girls' Volleyball Teams on finishing their season as Co-Champions of the Patriot Middle School Athletic Conference! It was a great season for the 7th and 8th grade teams representing Daniel Wright. |

Congratulations to Trevor and Nick, who qualified for the State Wrestling meet following their successes at the IESA Wrestling Sectionals in early March. They represented Daniel Wright well, and it was a great experience for them. The entire Wrestling Team deserves recognition for a fantastic season. Congratulations to Trevor and Nick and the entire team! |

Best of luck to the DW Scholastic Bowl team at the Patriot Middle School Conference Meet this week and at the Regional Tournament, which our school hosts on April 25th!

MATHCOUNTS Team
Congratulations to Daniel Wright’s MATHCOUNTS team, which captured second place at the State competition on March 3rd! Seventy-five schools were represented by 300 of the top math students in the state. Congratulations to Connie (8th grade), Jung (8th grade), Jason (7th grade) and Haoyang (6th grade), as well as to our coaches, Mrs. Frantom and Mrs. Fender! Individually, Connie and Haoyang placed in the top 25% of competitors, and Jung took second place as an individual competitor. He will represent our school and the State of Illinois on the team of four students competing at the National MATHCOUNTS Competition this May in Orlando, FL. Congratulations!
